EVenergi Welcomes Christophe Capel as New Head of Product Amidst Global Expansion
EVenergi Taps Ex-Atlassian and Canva Growth Leader, Christophe Capel, for Strategic Expansion and Continuation of its Growth Trajectory in Fleet Management Software
Today, EVenergi is announcing that Christophe Capel has joined the company as Head of Product, following the company’s recent announcement of its Series A funding round and continued expansion of the BetterFleet™ software into international markets. In this role Capel will oversee product management and drive the product development life cycle from concept and design to development and launch, ensuring the company’s fleet management software platform continues to make BetterFleet customers’ transition to zero emission vehicles cost-effective and efficient.
Capel joins the company from Canva, one of Australia’s fastest growing software companies, where he was Head of User Growth, leading product teams to build best-in-class software solutions and providing strategic direction for the evolution of the company’s offerings, and was instrumental in significant user growth and revenue generation.
Previously, Capel held the position of Principal Product Manager at Atlassian, the tech company founded in Australia offering widely used software solutions such as Jira, Confluence, Trello, Bitbucket and more, now listed on the NASDAQ with a market cap over $65 billion. There he built bridges between product, engineering, and marketing to formulate winning go-to-market plans for industry leading SaaS solutions, and played an instrumental role in launching Jira Service Management, the fastest growing product in the company’s history.
“After an extensive search across three continents and nearly 1,000 applicants, we selected Christophe,” said Daniel Hilson, Founder & CEO of EVenergi. “Leveraging insights from the proven track record of success in product excellence from two of Australia’s most successful software companies will be key as we scale and continue delivering world-leading products.”
Using real-world data and road-tested algorithms, the BetterFleet platform from EVenergi simplifies planning through automation in charger and vehicle selection, utility infrastructure sizing, and optimization of operational planning. The platform also manages fleets’ live charging and operations to ensure financial and sustainability goals are met in a way that does not disrupt the core duties of the fleet while minimizing impact on the electricity grid. This is made possible by BetterFleet’s digital twin and machine learning technologies that simulate fleet operations with the highest degree of accuracy and optimize ongoing performance.
To date, BetterFleet has supported the decarbonization of over 60,000 vehicles worldwide in more than 200 fleets, including major fleets in New York, Seattle, Detroit, Honolulu, Sydney, Melbourne, London, and more.
“At this pivotal moment, I’m thrilled to join EVenergi and continue building upon the innovative solutions the team is already delivering with BetterFleet,” said Christophe Capel. “The potential to drive sustainable transportation and enable a seamless transition to zero-emission vehicles is incredibly exciting.”
